Professional Profile
Sunghee Lee, Ph.D., is Board of Trustees Endowed Professor of Science and Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Iona University. Her work focuses on membrane biophysical chemistry, droplet interface bilayers, lipid membranes, and bioactive molecule–membrane interactions, with a strong emphasis on undergraduate research, mentoring, and interdisciplinary education. As a faculty member at a Predominantly Undergraduate Institution (PUI), she works closely with undergraduate students through Project Symphony, mentoring them on research projects that build technical skills, scientific communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
